You may also want to consider using automated safety gates, which lift and lower themselves to install near or on ladders. This is particularly important where ladders are suspended above the ground, such as where they are usually raised by workers to work at heights. If you select self-closing safety gates, you need to ensure that they are heavy enough to prevent a worker from inadvertently falling into them. You should also ensure that the gate can be operated using a remote control, so that personnel cannot get accidentally out of the gate while the gate is closed. If you choose an automatic industrial safety gate, then you will want to purchase one with a safety sensor and anti-slip pads, as well as a built-in safety cutout for personnel.
